Forgetting And Moving On

forgetting

We will never, in this life, be completely free from sin, we should be walking in regular increasing transformation of our lives, where it has less and less effect.

The Apostle Paul who wrote the book of Philippians, reminds us the best way to going forward is forgetting what is behind, and reaching forward to what is ahead.

Philippians 3 Verse 13 & 14:

V13: Brothers {& sisters}, I do not consider myself to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: forgetting what is behind and reaching forward to what is ahead, V14: I pursue my goal the prize promised by God’s heavenly call in Christ Jesus”.

Forgetting the way we once were, and pursuing each of our goals which is ahead. Many people get stuck in the past, past failings, but we have the answer for this is continually coming before Our Lord, Our Redeemer and Our Friend.

We are all sinners saved by Grace, and The Bible is not specific on how much transformation we should expect in this life, is is most likely as much as we pursue, Our Lord for. Transformation is an on going process. Transformation is not a process where we are instantly turned into saints that don’t sin.

Transformation is the process that happens, the more and more we walk with Our Lord and Our Friend, Transformation does not lie in our own abilities, it relies in trust on Our Lord and Our Friend, and nothing of ourselves except Faith. Faith is the only thing that pleases God.

All people if life are pursuing something, more wealth, more love, more acceptance, a better life. But we have all that In Christ Jesus, because In Him. we are complete. The reality of that completeness comes in our daily walking with Him.

Then our pursing, is the pursuing that the Apostle Paul found: ” I pursue as my goal the prize promised by God’s heavenly call in Christ Jesus’. because Jesus is all we need.

God Bless.
