Overcoming Evil Thoughts

Sometimes we muse over words and wonder how did they come about, well Satan is really the Fallen Archangel Lucifer, fallen because he rebelled against God, and has been causing disruption ever since. He is only a liar and deceiver, and has no power at all, except we give it to him. Why do we call him the devil, here is a theory to make you laugh or cry, well evil is evil, and if you say the evil, you get the D-evil.

Lets get on with the serious side of the message. Evil thoughts are from Satan {The Devil}. Satan does not know our thoughts, and he does not know our desires. All he can do is pervert and pollute, to infiltrate our thoughts and destroy our desires, but only if we let him.

Remember Job, God gave Satan the power over everything Job owned but not Job: Job 1 verse 12;

God thoughts about Job were, verse 8; “No one else on earth is like him, a man of perfect integrity, who fears God and turns away from evil”.

So you would have thought Satan would have come back to God and said it is to hard to get at him, to do anything to him. But Satan is a schemer and probably tried every trick in his book of nastiness, to get at Job. Job had a weakness, yes this man that God Himself said there was no one on earth like him.

Job had an opening in his life that Satan could use, Job 3 verse 25: “For the thing I feared has overtaken me, and what I dread has happened to me”. Fear is an advantage that Satan will take, to control our thoughts.

That why the Hymn we used in ‘Faith of Our Forefathers’ called ‘All to Jesus I surrender’ is a wonderful answer to block Satan, lie and deception.

All to Jesus we surrender, including our strengths and weakness we may have, All to Jesus, because He wants to strengthen our strengths and repair our weaknesses, so Satan has no in into our lives.

Psalm 139 verse 23 and 24:

V23: “Search Me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my concerns”.

V24: “See if there is any offensive way in me; lead me in the everlasting way”.

When we surrender all to Our Lord and Our Friend, we are delivered by His blood He shed fro us on the cross, and Satan can not come pass the Blood of The Cross. To Read more read about the Passover in the Old Testament.

What we can say to Satan is, ‘Get behind me, Satan! I rebuke you in the name of Christ Jesus, My Lord and My Redeemer and My Friend. Oh how wonderful it is for us as children of God, to be brought into liberty, power, blessing, strength and all He has for us now on earth and in eternity.

We shouldn’t measure ourselves by ourselves, or we will be defeated. Measure ourselves by the life of The Lord at work within us, and put you hope in Him.

1 John 3 verse3: “And  everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself just as He {Our Lord and Our Friend} is pure”.

All to Jesus let us surrender, then we will be in a wonderful place of dominion over sin and evil.

God Bless.
