Things in my life, have not been going well lately, and I even ended up in hospital for major surgery, so how do we respond when everything in life seems to be going badly. Well there is one example in 1 Kings 19. Elijah.
Elijah experience comes as an encouragement, the great man of God has a weakness and his emotions really were just like ours.
Elijah became physically tired.
Elijah became emotionally and spiritually drained.
Elijah felt lonely..
Elijah was afraid.
Does that sound like a great man or woman of God. We are all created with emotions and God wants us to use them all.
2 Corinthians 12 verse 9 “My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness.” Therefore i will most gladly boast all the more about my weakness, so that Christ’s power may reside in me.
Elijah as we know was an Old Testament character, but he knew the power of God, because he had often used it.
God did not abandon Elijah, so God will never abandon us. Read His promise Hebrews 13 verse 5.
Anxiety is an emotion, God wants us to express all our emotions to Him, both Good and Bad. It is by the word of our testimonies, testimonies meaning the things we have done and gone through good and bad, that will help others understand the Hope we have in Our Lord and Our Friend.
We are never alone, once we ask the King of Kings to come into your life. He will be the best Friend we will ever have.
