Faith Without Crutches Or Props

To be a believer in Jesus doesn’t make us weak or a person looking for a crutch to prop up one life. To be a believer, there are gifts (supernatural) available to us.

The truth is that nothing on this earth can really satisfy us. Much can make us content for a time, but nothing can fill us to the brim. The reason is that our real joy, lies beyond the earthly understanding of this world. The earthly things are solid goods, and we naturally relish them. But they are not our final good. They point to what is higher up, and the eternal purpose we are created for.

John 20:21. We can go in Peace. we are being sent in His Peace.

Peace be with you, as the Father has sent me {Jesus}, I am sending you.

Jesus is the Prince of Peace and He was giving them His peace. The idea of peace, ‘Shalom’ has a rich Old Testament background. It can simply mean the absence of war, but more often it implies a sense of wholeness and general well being.

For individual believers, peace is a ‘Fruit of the Spirit’ in their lives as they rely upon God and live for Him. Clearly this peace Jesus left with us which we experience in our relationship with God is Good News for the others too. The Good News of the Cross of what Jesus has done for us, brings peace and can overcome all barriers today.

Ephesians 2:17

When Jesus came, He proclaimed the good news of peace to you who were far away, and peace to those who are near.

Peace is a fruit of the Spirit. Come eat and enjoy this fruit as we serve Him.

Christs’ followers have a responsibility to display and deliver the message of peace. This is why Jesus adds, “AS THE FATHER SENT ME, I AM SENDING YOU”.

This peace is more than the world system can explain, and the transformed life, we have In Christ, is more than anything the world system can offer. The world may have it ‘Crutches’ that may help the temporal view, but we are created for eternity, and in and through our lives, we have real purpose, with an eternal destiny.

“Crutches‘ or props to navigate one through life, are only temporal, fellowship and the companionship of our Loving Lord and Friend, is transforming, and if  we allow ourselves to be transformed by His peace, we will have more than we need. It is through all He has for us, of which His Great Peace is apart, He is sending us, to be a light in a dim would.

God Bless
