Faith In Action ‘Don’t Be Discouraged’

discouragement

The Apostle Paul encouraged the church to keep it commitments to The Lord by reminding them that nothing they did for The Lord was wasted.

1 Corinthians 15 verse 58: “Therefore, my dear brother, be steadfast, immovable, always excelling in the Lord’s work, knowing your labor in the Lord is not in vain”.

This message speaks right to the heart of any discouragement in our Service for Our Lord and Our Friend. It is an encouragement for discouragement, telling us to remain steadfast. Steadfastness speaks of enduring, and Our Lord and Our Friend gives us an example of enduring in Hebrew 12 verse 1:

“Therefore since we also have such a large cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us lay aside every weight and sin that easily ensnares us, and run with endurance the race that lies before us”.

This is a great example of focus, and if our focus is on our destiny in Christ Jesus, nothing should discourage us, Hebrew 12 verse 2:

“Keeping our eyes on Jesus. the source and perfecter of our faith, Who for the joy that lay before Him endured the cross and despised the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of God’s throne”.

Excelling at what we do for God, even performing the most menial task {such as making morning tea} or the most front house task, {such as being behind a pulpit}, we are to excel, fro Him. His Promise is nothing done for Him, is ever a waste.

Discouragement comes to rob us, of our value to The Kingdom, lets take encouragement that we of of great value to a God That loves us, and gave Himself for us.

God Bless.
