Getting old, catches up with most people, but that is an oldness in body. The Spirit, is a place where our strength can be renewed at all times.
Isaiah 40 verse 31: “But those who trust in the Lord will renew their strength; they will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary; they will walk and not faint”.
The Bible offers many examples of people who struggled as they tired to live for God. Their stories are meant to encourage us. Encourage us, that they knew, the reality of the above verse.
Our Lord and Our Friend goes further when he says in Matthew 11 verse 28:
“Come to me, all of you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest”.
Growing in our Spiritual life, doesn’t have to be burdensome, but growing in our Christian life is to be an ongoing thing.
Ephesians 1 verse 18 and 19:
V18: “I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened so you may know what is the hope of His calling, what is the glorious riches of His inheritance among the saints’,
V19: “and what is the immeasurable greatness of His power to us who believe, according to the working of His vast strength”.
Spiritual Growth, keeping the eyes of our heart open, to what Our Lord and Our Friend, wants to do through our life.
Spiritual Growth; through knowing the hope of our calling/
Spiritual Growth, understanding the spiritual riches, He has for us to walk in.
Spiritual Growth. We grow in His strength, in the immeasurable greatness of His Power,
Everything we need for spiritual growth is IN HIM, which comes from walking closer and closer with Him everyday. Unless we spend time with Him and in His Word, we are doing it through self effort, and our Spiritual Growth is stunted.
Spiritual grow comes out of the good things He has placed in our lives, and out of those good things, the Fruit of His Spirit will grow. Galatians 5 verse 22 & 23:
Growing spiritual is more than just growing old. Growing spiritual we have an eternal purpose, eternal hope, and eternal destiny.
