Faith In Action ‘Watching What We Say’

tongue

Be careful little mouth, what you say. Proverbs 18 verse 21:

“Life and death are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat it’s fruit.”

Lets look at it again from the Message Bible, proverbs 18 verse 21:

“Words kill, words give life; they,re either poison or fruit – you choose.

We have a choice in what we say and there was a song that puts it admirably, “Let the words of my mouth and the mediation of my heart be acceptable unto to oh God.”

Lets turn to the book of James and read {Message Bible}; James 3 verse 3 t0 5:

“A bit in the mouth of a horse controls the whole horse. a small rudder on a ship in the hands of a skilled captain sets course in the face of the strongest winds.A word out your mouth may seem of no account, but it can accomplish nearly anything—or destroy it”!

James makes it impossible for us to underestimate the significances of words. There are no just ordinary words. God through His Word created everything, God’s words make the world go around. The words of our mouth, while not as powerful, aren’t far behind. Though they seem small, they all have great impact.

If we are growing in Christ Jesus {Our Lord and Our Friend}, we should be growing in the fruits of the Spirit.

But James says, ‘With our tongues we bless god our Father, with the same tongues we curse the very men and women he made in His image. Curses and Blessings out of the same mouth!

Can you believe that? Can you believe there were and are Christians, who praise God, singing, the hymns and the choruses and entering into prayers and then out on the street, they were gossiping, cursing and belittling their fellow Christians with their words.

Let  us all use our words wisely and let all our words be acceptable to our Lord and Our friend.

We are the salt of the earth, let us use this Gift to bless all we meet, with words of encouragement and virtue, thus being a blessing and not a curse.

God bless.
