We are not exempt, from facing hardship. We just haven’t joined a club where nice things always happen. We apart of a Kingdom people, who are being transformed into kingdom living people, but are not free from hardships. But in whatever we go through, we have a King, Who cares, and helps us through.
We shouldn’t be overwhelmed, we shouldn’t grow discouraged, or we shouldn’t just give up, we can’t turn back, because although we might be tempted to think otherwise, God hasn’t given us on us. Hardship is not the final word in our lives.
Psalm 23: V1: The Lord is My shepherd; there is nothing I lack.
His Grace is sufficient for me.
Psalm 23: V4: “Even we I go through the darkest valley, I fear no danger, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff — they comfort me.
He will never leave us or forsake us.
Hardships, His rod and His staff, comfort me. The Rod speaks about correction, perhaps sometimes we need to correct ourselves, because after all we represent His Kingdom. The Staff speaks of protection, even though hardships may come, Our Lord Our Redeemer and Our Friend is always there for us.
And we can boldly approach His throne of Grace in time of need.
V4: tells us, He is with us and the word to take heart with is, ‘through’,, Trust in our King will bring us Through.
