The Joshua Way Of Looking

Joshua and Caleb, were two of twelve people sent to give a report on the land God had given, the exiles that Moses was leading out of slavery. The land that lay before them.

Joshua and Caleb, came back with a positive report, we can take the land, the others came back with excuses. Joshua’s  and Caleb’s names, are now synonymous, with having a different vision. The names of the people with excuses, can hardly be remembered.

Many years late after being Moses’ faithful deputy, God told Joshua to get ready to take the people into the land, he and Caleb gave a good report on.

Joshua 1 verses 1 and 2:

V1: “After the death of Moses the Lord’s servant, the Lord spoke to Joshua, son of Nun, who had swerved Moses”.

Joshua had come back with a positive report many years before, but instead of remaining bitter against the people with excuses, he remained loyal to his God, and loyal to his leader Moses.

V2: Moses my servant is dead. Now you and all the people prepare to cross over the Jordan to the Land, I am giving”.

Loyalty, Faithfulness and Vision had paid off. He could have been very bitter, but all those years ago, he and Caleb, saw what God had for them. He and Caleb understood with God on their side, the land would be theirs. The problem at that time, was others had a different vision and found excuses. The people with excuses only saw the problems, which destroyed the vision for the land that God had for them.

just as in Joshua day, God wants to take us, in a a new place, He has for us.

Revelation 3 verse 20: “Listen! I {Jesus} stand at the door and knock, If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him {or her}and have Dinner {communion] with him [or her}, and he [or her} with Me”.

Don’t be people with a limited vision and excuse, be people that opens the door wide to communion with Our Lord, Our Redeemer and Our Friend.

2 Corinthians 5 verse 17: “therefore if anyone is in Christ, there is a new creation; old things have passed away and look, new things have come”.

People with excuses will never see, the New things, Christ Jesus has for them, there excuses will not allow them into communion with Him.

Colossians  3 verse 1o: “And have put on the new man, who is being renewed in knowledge according to the Image of his {or her} Creator”.

People with excuse  don’t put on new things they don’t understand. Let be people with a Joshua and Caleb vision, who are prepared to enter into all that God has for them. Let be people that not only enter in, but be a people that embrace all the new treasures, Our Lord, Our Redeemer and Our Friend has for us.

God Bless.
