We All Have Needs

needs

We all have needs, and unfortunately we all have wants. Sometimes our consumption for wants, consumes what we basically need.

Philippians 4 verse 19: “And my God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.”

By faith in Him, He will supply are our needs, but not necessarily our wants. The riches referred to, have more than a world’s economic value.

Psychologists, list six things they consider humans fundamental needs:

1. Survival; the needs to exist.

2. Security: the need for stability, emotional and economic.

3. Sexuality: the need for intimacy.

4. Significance: the need to amount to something.

5. Self-fulfillment: the need to achieve.

6. Self-hood. the need for identity.

All these are true, but we are more than just physical beings. We were created in the image of God. Genesis 1 verse 26: We are also spiritual beings, we were created for intimacy with God.

By faith My God shall supply all my needs;

Survival: Romans 8 verse 10 and11:

V10: “Now if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit is life because of righteousness,”

V11: And if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead lives in you, then He who raised Christ from the dead will also bring your mortal bodies to life through His Spirit who live in you.”

Security: Romans 8 verse 28:

V28: “We know that all things work together for the good of those who love  God; those who are called according to His purpose.”

Sexuality: {Intimacy with God}; 1 John 1 verse 3;

V3: ” What we have seen and heard we also declare to you, so that you may have fellowship along with us; and indeed our fellowship is with The Father and with His Son Jesus Christ.”

Significance; 1 John 3 verse 1:

V1: “Look at how great a love The Father has given us, that we should be called God’s children. And we are!”

Self-fulfillment: 1 John 3 verse 2 and 3:

V2: “Dear friends, we are God’s children now, and what we will be has not yet been revealed. we know that when He appears, we will be like Him, because we will see Him as He is.”

v3: “And everyone who has this hope in him {them} purifies himself {themselves} just as He is pure.”

Self-hood: Galatians 2 verse 20:

V20: “And I no longer live, but Christ lives in me, The life I now live in the flesh, I live by faith in The Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself  for me,”

God has all our needs covered, let us not mistake our wants for needs by remembering 2 Corinthians 12 verse 9:

V9: “”But He said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness’.”

God Bless.
