Peace Not As The World Gives

Let peace of Christ rule in your hearts. Our lives governed by Peace! Not just any form of peace, but the peace given to believers in Philippians 4 verse 7;

“The Peace of God, which surpasses every thought, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus”.

To be a believer in Jesus does not make us week or a person looking for a crutch to prop up our lives. To be Kingdom People, there are gifts available to all of us.

We seem to write on Peace a lot, not a patchwork quilt peace that the world is trying to put together, a little bit of this belief and a little bit of that peace philosophy. No the Peace that surpasses all understanding, the peace we were created for, God’s peace.

When Jesus commissioned His disciples in John 20 verse 21 and 22;

V21: “Jesus said to them again, ‘Peace to you! As The Father has sent Me, I also send you’.”

V22: “After saying this, He breathed on them and said, ‘Receive The Holy Spirit’.”

If we look back in Genesis, God had breathed into His creation before, when He made man from the dust of the ground. Genesis 1 verse 26:

“Then God said, ‘Let Us make man in Our Image, according to Our likeness’.”

We were created to carry The Peace of God, but that was distorted because of the fall into sin, and separated us from carrying the Presence of God.

Belief in The Redemptive work of The Cross, God is once again able to breath into His creation.

John 14 verse 27: “Peace I{Jesus} leave with you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Your heart must not be troubled or fearful”.

What a wonderful privilege, it is to be Kingdom people, able to be filled with everything, Our Lord and Our Friend created us to carry. Kingdom people are peace carriers, but the peace that Surpasses all understanding. We might not understand it ourselves, but The Holy Spirit will teach us to grow in that understanding.

God Bless.
