Paying tribute to those who faithfully followed Our Lord and Our Friend, over the centuries, with another Hymn. This is a call to action Hymn. We should all be stirred by the wonderful words of this Hymn.
V1; Christians , wake, no longer sleep:
Shall we rest while others weep/
Shall we sit with folded hands
When The Lord Himself commands?
V2; Do we love the Savior’s name?
can our faith His promise claim?
Have we pledged to Him our all?
Shall we not obey His call?
V3: Do we trust him as we ought?
Do we live as He has taught?
Are we His, and His alone?
Let our faith by works be shown.
V4 There’s a cross that we must bear
If the crown we hope to wear;
Onward, then, with vigor new;
Time is short, the days are few.
Chorus: Go and work! this hour begin;
Go and seek… the lost to win;
From the dark…abodes of sin,…
To the feast, oh, bring them in!
A call to action sung down through the centuries. A lot of questions to consider afresh in us all.
Do we love the Savior Name?
Can our faith His promise claim?
Have we pledge to Him our all?
Do we trust Him as we ought?
Do we live as He has taught?
Are we His, and His alone?
The Hymn is a hymn of renewal, and It is always good to examine ourselves in the light of us being Kingdom People,
God Bless.

I grew up with, and love, the old hymns, and I also love the intimacy with God that can come with some of the newer songs of praise and worship. The point is that God wants all of us, and music and poetry are powerful tools to draw us to full surrender.
Thanks for taking the time to comment, You are totally correct, Hymns of our Forefathers is only one of our categories, I am sure you will see, our overall reason for doing what we are doing, is to help bring more to know more about The God that created us and loves us so much, and to encourage others to go deeper into Him. But unless we understand how awesome and all-powerful and Loving He is, people will never know the joy that comes from total surrender. If this site can help bring someone to know Him as their Lord, Their Redeemer, Their Helper and Their Friend and much more,we will be Thankful, and feel blessed to have witnessed about Him. Thanks Again God Bless. OFJ. {It is always about Him and never about us}
