How can we know if something we are doing, or thinking about doing, is the right thing to do? You will know, some people may call it conscience, but if we are walking in the presence of Our Lord and Our Friend, we have His leading to help.
Christians are and should be, acutely sensitive to anything they do or say that might in any way be injurious Him. Listen carefully to God within you, and He will tell you if something you have done or thinking about displeases Him.
We can be challenged, by many things and Satan would love to get into our minds, to keep us doubting ourselves. But he is a defeated foe, so we should be able to discern his tactics.
It is always good to have a prayer partner, someone to run things by, never be afraid to ask for guidance or counseling from a mature believer whom we respect. Life can, after all, offer up all kinds of situations, and sometimes these situations may entangle us.
Cultivate relationships with believers whose judgement, we know is sound. Cultivate a prayer life, prayer is communication with Our Lord and Our Friend.
The Apostle John, knew we would go through things, when He wrote 1 John 2 verse 1:
“My little children, I am writing you these things so that you may not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with The father–Christ Jesus the Righteous One”.
Perhaps the best thing to be said on this matter, ‘What are we doing’, can be brought to account through the words of a wonderful words of The Hymn, ‘All to Jesus I surrender’.
All to Jesus I surrender,
All to him I freely give;
i will ever love and trust Him,
In His presence daily live.
Then our answer to what are we doing can be, ‘what would you have me do Lord’.
God Bless.
