Popularity is a thing most people crave for, but what should be utmost on our minds is obedience to God’s radial vision for us. And this will mean that we will not always be accepted or applauded.
We will be criticized all-round, people we know and love might find it hard to understand, why we make our stand. But in our walk with the Lord we are called to do the right thing, not the easy thing.
We are called to be radial in this world, because after all when we accept Christ Jesus, as Our Lord, Our Redeemer and Our Friend, we are in the world but not of it. We now belong to His Kingdom and not the kingdom of this world,
But if we do not show the world what Our Lord and Our Friend is like, we can not be critical of the people of this world that they can not see Him.
Doing the right thing is not about claiming some kind of separatist approach of moral high ground, and it is definitely not about being popular. But it is about displaying to the world what God is like, so those around us can see Him.
Matthew 14 to 16: V14: “You are the light of the world. A city situated on a hill cannot be hidden, V15 No one lights a lamp and puts it under a basket, but rather on a lamp-stand, and it gives light for all who are in the house. V16 In the same way, let your light shine before men, so that they may see your good works and give Glory to the Father in heaven”.
This will not make us popular, but it will make us obedient to the life He has called us to.
Go Bless.
