Joy and sorrow, this would seem to be an oxymoron, but there is an importance of sorrow as the foundation of joy.
We have spoken on who we are in Christ Jesus which brings about real joy.
The message of the Gospel provides Joy with what it brings. It gives us what we will call a sense of acceptance with God, it gives us God for the rest of our Spirit, and it gives us communion with Him.
Sorrow comes in knowing the state, Our Lord and Our Friend, rescued us from, the exceeding lost state of sin. There was NOTHING we could to rescue ourselves or make ourselves right with God.
Sorrow leads us to repentance, repentance is the way to acceptance of the GIFT, God offers through His Son Christ Jesus {Our Lord and Our Friend}.
Joy and Sorrow are not contradictory. These two states of mind, both of them the natural operation of any deep faith.
Joy can live in the midst of the sorrow, the sorrow springs from the same root as the joy.
The Joy of The Lord becomes our strength, the sorrow at the hopelessness of man, should spur us on to do great things in the Joy of The Lord.
So in a nutshell what we are saying;
We are weak unless we have Joy, we are not joyful and strong unless our faith and hope are fixed in Christ Jesus {Our Lord and Our Friend} and unless we are working from the Assurance of Salvation and not working towards the Assurance of Salvation.
Know what we have for sure in Christ Jesus, and what we have in Christ Jesus {Our Lord and Our Friend} is more then enough to conquer any circumstance.
Let Him use all our emotions including, both Joy and sorrow as we do His work.
God Bless.
