Bearing witness to the word of His grace
In Acts Chapter 14 , we read that Paul and Barnabus stayed a long time in Iconium,
preaching boldly and fearlessly about the Lord. Verse 3 says ‘many trusted in the
Lord, for He backed up His message of grace with miracles, signs and wonders
performed by the apostles.” TPT NKJV says (“the Lord who was bearing witness to
the word of His grace)

The Greek word for ‘grace’ , charis, in the Strong’s Concordance means ‘that which
brings delight, joy, pleasure and sweetness.’ ; also described as ‘graciousness of
manner; especially the divine influence upon the heart.’

Just prior to this, Paul and Barnabus had been preaching in Antioch, and they were
persecuted and expelled from that region. However in Acts 13:51-52, we see ‘they
shook off the dust from their feet and came to Iconium. And the disciples were filled
with joy and with the Holy Spirit.”

Acts 14: v 1 – ‘ a great multitude of both Jews and Greeks believed.’
This is the power of the Gospel; the Good News of Salvation in our Lord and Friend
Jesus Christ; the power of His Grace to bring Divine influence upon our heart. His
Grace; bringing joy and delight and sweetness to our hearts as He bears witness to
His Word with miracles and wonders.

The greatest miracle is the transforming power of His Grace to us who believe in
Him, which brings us out of darkness into His marvelous light.
Have you felt like you are under a dark cloud of fear, condemnation, guilt, apathy,
anguish or depression, or even something that you can’t name? A heaviness that
robs you of your joy and delight?

Come to Jesus, our Lord and Friend; allow Him to be ‘the Divine influence upon your
heart.’ He has promised to give us peace and rest in the midst of troubles in this
world. His rest and refreshing comes to us, bearing witness to the Word of His
Grace. John 1:14 “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we
beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and
truth.”
