Truth will protect you

Reading Proverbs this week, I came across this portion of a verse “Truth will protect you.” It got me thinking.

Many Scriptures speak of truth; “God desires truth in our inward parts”; “Truth will set you free”; Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Truth; “grace and truth came through Jesus Christ”; Holy Spirit “will guide you into all truth”.

“God desires truth in our inward parts” Psalm 51:6. God values absolute sincerity, authenticity and a heart free from deceit rather than just outward religious actions. This calls for inner transparency and urges us to be honest with ourselves and God about our thoughts and feelings.

How wonderful to be able to come to Abba Father, knowing that He loves us unconditionally and has forgiven us totally in Christ Jesus. We can trust Him with our weaknesses and failures and receive His strength and wisdom and truth to set us free. Psalm 32:8 “I will counsel you with My eye on you.”

I came across a little magnetic bookmark with a picture of an adult giraffe and a young giraffe, nose to nose, eyes facing each other, and I thought of the above Scripture verse. “I will counsel you with My eye on you.”

This coming week, I pray that we will be aware of our loving Father, our Lord and Friend, watching over us, His truth protecting us from the lies of the enemy as He counsels us with His eye on us.
