My soul is content in You

Psalm 131:2-3 “I am humbled and quieted in your presence. Like a contented child who rests on its mother’s lap. I’m your resting child and my soul is content in you. O people of God, your time has come to quietly trust, waiting upon the Lord now and forever.” The Passion Translation

Being content has been described as ‘finding a point of stillness within ourselves which allows us to be quietly happy whatever our situation might be, and to be at peace with who we are.’

Romans 12:1-2 Paul exhorts “Beloved friends, what should be our proper response to God’s marvelous mercies? To surrender yourselves to God to be his sacred, living sacrifices. And live in holiness, experiencing all that delights his heart. For this becomes your genuine expression of worship.”

The Father says, “My sheep hear My voice”. He fashions our hearts individually. There are different manifestations of the gifts and callings of God in our individual lives.

Fulfillment and contentment may be found as we continually commit our ways to Him, trusting our Lord and Friend will lead us in that good and perfect and acceptable will of God. He is faithful.

Philippians 2:13 encourages us “God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases Him.”
