Scripture Verse Of The Week ‘2 Corinthians 5 verse 17’

new creations

2 Corinthians 5 verse 17:

“Therefore if anyone is in Christ, there is a new creation, old things have passed away and look, new things have come”.

When we come to acceptance of what Our Lord and Our Friend achieved on the cross for us, we don’t only assume a name like Christian over us, we become new creations.

Accepting what Christ Jesus did on the cross, for us, makes us followers, and as followers, we follow Him, dying to ourselves { to our old ways of living} so we can live in the new ways, He has redeemed us for.

It is more than accepting a name. Being a Christian won’t help you in any way whatsoever, Our Lord and Our Friend, on the other hand, will always help you in all of our struggles to come nearer to Him.

Understanding we are not just accepting a name, we can now realize that one of the primary effects of being in a relationship with Our Lord and Our Friend, is that over time it reshapes us into somebody who acts and thinks in a more Christ like manner.

if we want to be associated with a name, just join a club, but if we want to be associated with with New Life, and a exciting fulfilling lifestyle, become a ‘whosoever’ and accept God’s invitation to come. John 3 verse 16:

The fact of being a Christian, will not automatically take away all our bad habits. But the process of being a Christian will diminish our wrong-doing and more importantly our desire for wrong-doing, a little bit everyday. More Importantly, we have accepted Him, and He has made us New Creations, trust Him that He is working in, with and on us, to  reshape who we are now into somebody both He and us, would prefer to be.

WE are are New Creations in Him, trust Him to do the things  that will truly transform our lives.

God Bless.
