Righteousness Imputed and Imparted
The New Testament paints a powerful picture of who we are as Christians. Not just sinners saved by grace; but saints, transformed by the power of God through our Lord and Friend Jesus Christ.
When we believe in Jesus , we are born again (John 3:6), made righteous (2 Corinthians 5:21); given the divine nature (2 Peter 1:3-4). It’s like a complete spiritual heart transplant. We possess a new and living heart (Ezekiel 36:26-27; Hebrews 8:10; Romans 6:17) which allows us to experience the fullness of life in Christ.
Through faith in Christ, we have been imputed and imparted the gift of righteousness of God (2 Corinthians 5:21; Galatians 3:21) Romans 6:17-18 “But God be thanked that though you were slaves of sin, yet you obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine to which you were delivered. And having been set free from sin, you became slaves of righteousness.”
When Father God looks at us, He sees us as new creations, holy, righteous, blameless, His children. Romans 4:24-25 ……”it (righteousness) shall be imputed to us who believe in Him who raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead, who was delivered up because of our offences and was raised because of our justification.” “Christ was raised because of our justification”.
How great salvation.
Shalom.
