From The Heart

Courageous and authentic

Over the last few weeks you may have noticed a bit of a theme in my writing. Articles on The Cracked Pot, God’s heart for Perfectionism and following along the same thought tonight, I am again looking at the Scripture “My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in your weaknesses.” 2 Corinthians 12:9.

Many feel the need to ‘appear perfect’, to present a polished version of ourselves and thus hide flaws and imperfections. We have forgotten that our flaws are what make us human and allow others to relate to us in their own times of brokenness. God doesn’t call us to be perfect, but to grow and become mature in Christ; He calls us to be authentic. And this takes courage.

Our Lord and Friend does not leave us alone to ‘work it out for ourselves’; rather He comes alongside as our Helper, Comforter, Teacher and Guide, the wonderful Holy Spirit Who lives in us to strengthen and bring healing to areas of wounding and brokenness.

I recently heard this quote: ‘remember, in God’s economy, it’s not the flawless who change the world. It’s the broken, the imperfect, the ones who know their need for grace.” How precious! This verse of Scripture reminds us His grace is always available and is absolutely sufficient in every circumstance we face.

Our Lord Jesus came as Grace and Truth, in Person. He is the One in Whom we live and move and have our being. He is the Author and Finisher of our faith. We are His beloved. We can trust that the work He began in us, He will complete.

Rich blessings.
