Fruit of the Spirit Developing Character Peace
Peace is the third fruit of the Spirit mentioned in Galatians Chapter 5 verses 22 and 23.
John 14 verse 27, Jesus said “Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled neither let it be afraid.”
Romans 14:17 “For the Kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit”.
Romans 16:20 “and the God of peace will crush Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.”
Philippians 4:6 and 7 “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything, by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests to made known to God, and the peace of God, which surpasses understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”
From these few Scriptures we see that the peace which comes from our Lord and Friend is not the same peace as that experienced by people who are not born-again of the Spirit of God. The portion of those who are born into the Kingdom of God is righteousness which comes in Christ Jesus; and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. Peace is our inheritance in Jesus, the Prince of Peace.
Also, as we bring our cares and petitions before the Lord, with thanksgiving, we have the promise that peace will mount garrison over our heart and minds in Christ Jesus. Peace with be the guard of our hearts and minds. As we choose to let peace be the umpire of our hearts, the God of peace will crush the enemy under your feet.
This peace that comes as a fruit of the Holy Spirit is a powerful spiritual force that will help us to be overcomers in this world.
Isaiah 26:3 “You will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You”. How powerful is this scripture. Perfect peace! Keep our minds focused on Him! Trust Him!
