Sunday Encouragement

If this is your day for rest like us all you still need encouragement. Be encouraged today by this wondeful verse from Isaiah 55 verse 8:

Isaiah 55 Verse 8:

“‘For My thoughts are not your thoughts, and your ways are not My ways,’ this is The Lord’s declaration”.

There is always a better way to do things

I have been quite rattled lately, about a very good friend, who is going into to hospital, for what will be an horrendous operation. I was with him recently and praying with him, and I have to admit I don’t understand what and why he will be going through, but God never leaves us confused, and He reminded me, His ways are not always the way we want or think. My Lord, My Friend reminded me, He is in control, and he has heard my prayers, and He knows the complete situation. This lead me to an article I wrote sometime ago, about His ways of doing things are always better, than our thinking.

To look at the way God looks at things, may be quite different from the way we look at people and things.

In Samuel 16; The Lord Anoints David: The Prophet Samuel is sent by the Lord to visit Jesse of Bethlehem, because The Lord was going to anoint one of Jesse’s son to be the new king.

Jesse was a proud father, and presents to Samuel his eldest son Eliab, who was a general in the army.

Proverbs 14 verse 12:

“There is a way that seems right to a man, but it end is the way to death”.

Even at this time, Samuel though Eliab was the man. God told Samuel, Eliab was not the man: V7: “But The Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look at his appearance or his statue, because I have rejected him. Man does not see what the Lord sees, for man sees what is visible, but the lord sees the heart”.

{V 10} After Jesse presented seven of his sons to Samuel. To Jesse surprise, Samuel told him the Lord had not chosen any of these.

There must have been a right of passage in Jesse’s family, the youngest was out doing the things the brothers, may have though better of doing. Samuel ask Jesse to send this son to him. After passing over seven of Jesse’s son, Samuel anoints David.

Maybe you have been passed over, by the opinions of men. When it comes to our life’s calling, only one opinion counts and that is Our Loving Creator God!

It is never too late to become what Our Lord, Our Redeemer and Our Friend wants us to be, and to do what He wants us to do. Just as we need to find salvation for ourselves, we can’t be saved with somebody else’ salvation commitment, but their prayers for us will help. We can’t live somebodies else’ dream, ask Our Lord and Our Friend, to give us a dream of our own, one where we can live out our desires to be the Kingdom person He wants us to be, and He will give it to us.

God ways are higher than man’s ways, seek with His help, those high ways for our lives.
