The Anointing Oil is symbolic of The Holy Spirit.  

It was the Holy Spirit who empowered both King David and King Saul for rulership. Whoever God appoints to a position of authority He anoints with power. The Holy Spirit is the One who anoints us to positions.  

There are times The Holy Spirit may remove people from positions. If we look at the life of King Saul as an example. King Saul sadly began to walk in rebellion. When King Saul began to disobey His Maker, he was not just stripped of God’s favor, he was stripped of the Holy Spirit as well. ‘1 Samuel 16 Verse 14:  

Message Bible: “at That very moment the Spirit of God left Saul, and, in its place, a black mood sent by God settled on him. He was terrified.” 

Saul’s kingdom was given to David. David too made his own sinful errors, but he knew how to repent before The Lord, and He eventually had need to write Psalm 51 Verse 10 and 11: 

Message Bible: “God, make a fresh start in me, shape a Genesis week from the chaos of my life”. 

Accept your appointing and you’re anointing and obey the Holy Spirit leading. Understand the things that don’t please Him, like Pride, understand things that please Him, like humility. 

How wonderful it is to be appointed and anointed by the Spirit of God. 

We were made for The Holy Spirit to reside in us, hear His call, and answer, here I am Lord, ready to do your will.
