Righteousness

In this world we have people striving to be right and good to prove themselves to those around them and even to get to heaven.

Righteousness is right standing before God  (blameless before God)

This cannot be achieved through human achievement, and this is contrary to a widely held view that righteousness is achieved through self or human effort.

The scriptural position given by Paul is that righteousness is a gift that can’t be earned. God declares guilty sinners righteous and so puts them in right relationship with himself. This is through repentance.

Those who respond to God’s gracious gift to be made right with Him, receive the Holy Spirit. Through the spirit’s power those who have been declared righteous are in the process of being transformed into the image of Christ.

Romans 1 verse 16 “For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is God’s power for salvation to everyone who believes. (Put your name in here) for in it God’s righteousness is revealed from faith to faith, just as it is written The Righteous will live by faith.”

Without faith (in who He is and what He has done) it is impossible to please God.

Romans 8 verse 1 “Therefore there is no condemnation, for those IN Christ Jesus.”

The IN refers to in the original Greek as INTO, Those who are enveloped by Christ. (like being inside an envelope) Enclothed in His Righteousness. He is all around us- and He said He would never leave us or forsake us.

God bless
