From The Heart

Rest

Exodus 33:14 “He said, “My Presence will go with you, and I will give your rest.’” God said this to Moses when Moses had brought the Israelites out of bondage and slavery to the Egyptians, as they were going through the wilderness on the way to the promised land.

Hebrews chapter 3 in verses 18 and 19, we see that the Israelites did not enter God’s rest because of unbelief.

Hebrews 4 in the New Living Translations says “God’s promise of entering His rest still stands’ . For this is good news that God has prepared this rest, that’s been announced to us just as it was to them. But it did them no good because they didn’t share the faith of those who listened to God. Only we who believe can enter His rest.”

Hebrews 4 verses 9 and 10 says “There remains therefore a rest for the people of God. For he who has entered His (God’s) rest has himself also ceased from his works as God did from His”

Our Lord and Friend Jesus Christ has completed the work of redemption on the cross, so now we can abide in the rest of that finished work. Yes we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus so we can do the good things He planned for us long ago. Ephesians 2:10

So how do we walk in this wonderful rest of God. By faith in Him. Trusting His word. Hearing His voice and relying on His character. Getting to know Him daily.

Also Isaiah 28 verse 11 and 12 says “For with stammering lips and another tongue He will speak to this people, To whom He said ‘This is the rest with which You may cause the weary to rest’ and this is the refreshing”.

God wants us to walk and live out of resting in Him. He loves us more than we can comprehend.

My prayer for you is from Ephesians 3 verse 18 and 19 “And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep His love is. May you experience the love of Christ, thought is is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.”

God bless
