Victory comes by unexpected means, but with God all things become possible.
2 Chronicles chapter 20:
Jehoshaphat King of Judah was frightened and scared, the news had reached his palace in Jerusalem, that the Moabites and Ammonities, to with some of the Meunites, came to fight against him.
The King had already lost a town and the enemies were advancing on Jerusalem. The King called everyone to Jerusalem. The people came hurrying to the city, They surrounded the temple court, where the King wanted to address them.
2 Chronicles 20 verse13:”All Judah was standing before the Lord with their infants, their wives, and their children.”
King Jehoshaphat knew his army was not big enough to stand against the combined enemies, let alone defeat them. So in front of all the people he asked God for help.
God always wants to help those who put their trust in him. This is something we should all learn to do more.
God answers: 2 Chronicles 20 verse 15; “This is what the Lord says: ‘Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast multitude, for the battle is not yours, but God’s’.”
What wonderful assurance, Our Lord and Our Friend gives us the same assurance today if we bring our problems to Him.
The nest morning King Jehoshaphat, stood and said to the people, V20 “Hear me, Judah and you inhabitants of Jerusalem. Believe in the Lord your God, and you will be established; believe in His prophets, and you will succeed.”
Great words that are still true for us all today.
Then The King ordered the temple musicians to march at the head of the army and as they marched the The King appointed some to sing for The Lord and some to praise he splendor of God holiness. V 21″ “When they went out in font of the armed forces, they kept singing:
‘Give thanks to the Lord, for His faithful love endures forever’.”
The result of these tactics was that while the enemies were still some way off, they panicked, and they began to fight among themselves .
That day King Jehoshaphat and his people won a great victory.
Lesson to learn from this story: 1. If we have problems bring them to Our Lord and Our Friend. 2. We should trust all Our Lord and Our Friend asks us to do. 3. Make Praise and worship apart of our daily lives, and we might not have to go through many of our problem that try to confront us.
“Give thanks to the Lord Always, for His faithful love Truly does endure for ever.” And he loves us to much to leave us surrounded by our enemies.
What a difference singing praises to Our Lord and Our Friend will make to all our lives.
