Luke 23 verse 42: “Then he said, ‘Jesus remember me when you come into your Kingdom”.
The above verse comes from the story of Jesus being crucified, with two thieves, one on either side of Him on the cross.
One mocked Him, the other acknowledge Him. Jesus in His darkest moment, took time to listen to a cry for help. The thief didn’t have much time to live either, but he recognized Jesus, was The Christ, who came to save him, and anyone who puts their trust in Him.
The darkest moment, any of us could have today, probably would not be as grim, as hanging on a cross waiting to die, but Jesus us is with us, now as King of King and Lord of Lords.
Lately, I myself have been challenged, by several dark moments, the passing of my beloved wife, and then my own diagnosis with breast cancer. Really with so many supportive people around my life, one would think that these circumstances through faith would be easy for me.
Christ Jesus never promised His followers an easy road, His promise was one of relationship, and trust. He told the thief on the cross, today you will be in paradise with Me {V43}. Relationship through trust,
Christ Jesus promises, Matthew 11 verse 28 to 30:
V28:“Come to Me, all of you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest”.
V29: “All of you, take up My yoke and learn from Me, because I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for yourselves”.
V30: ‘ For My yoke is easy and My burden is light”.
So it doesn’t matter, at what our darkest moments are. Christ Jesus promises are true, He offers us relationship through trust.
I have found for myself and I know it to be true, not only does He tell us to come to find rest in Him, but He also promises, Hebrews 13 verse 5:
“ I will never leave you or forsake you”.
In everything we do, we need to find and trust, That He is Who He said, He was and is and He wants to be Our Lord, Our Savor and Our Friend, in every circumstance that may come our way.
Sometimes we might not like the circumstances, but lets have the faith and trust, that He is with us in Them.
God Bless.
