If this is your day for rest, like us all you still need encouragement. Be encouraged by this wonderful verse from Romans 6 Verse 4:
Romans 6 verse 4: “Therefore we are buried with Him by baptism, into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of The Father, so we too may walk in a new way of life”.
It is a wonderful verse back in the Gospel, we will use Matthew 28 verse 6: “He is not here! For He has been resurrected, just as He said”.
‘The Lord has risen; He has risen indeed’.
Without the fact of the resurrection , the cross would have been a complete disaster. If Our Lord did not rise from the dead then the Christian faith is vain.
The resurrection stories stress the importance of witnesses. The disciples sa the empty tomb, a stone rolled away and the grave clothe were left empty. The disciples also met Jesus, in the upper room, by the lakeside, on the road and in the garden.
The resurrection has something to say about the past, the present and the future.
The present is effected , because the Christ who rose is still alive today. Christians are risen to new life in Christ. The present because, Christians today can still walk with Him. The present because, we can know Him in the braking of bread {Communion}. The present because we can still bring our problems to Him. The present because, we can come boldly before The Throne of Grace in time of need.
Resurrection life is available to all who will accept, because Christ Jesus conquered the power of death. Everyone in Christ Jesus is made alive to a new way of living, in Him, with Him, for Him.
the celebration of this time, can be spread by word and deed, “The Lord is risen; He has risen indeed”.
