THE WORDS OF FAITH
As we mature, most of us change our life patterns as we experience many differences in our knowledge of various interests. In other words, our perspectives, often become altered from within the socializing and interaction we choose. We are all different and often influenced by the people we mix with. So we need to discern with whom we mix and respect each other’s viewpoints, characteristics and lifestyle. It is a bit like a jigsaw where one matches up pieces to fit the whole completed board.
I am thinking of how as Christians, how important the language of words affect behavior especially if it is not beneficial to the persons we are exchanging conversation with. As maturity reaches our understanding it is blessed by encouraging speech as God would judge words to be. Words of integrity, of trust and truth, of courage, of hope but especially to build one’ another’s spirit up with the love of God ‘speak’.
Words not of rejection, gossip, criticism, or judgemental assessment. In Romans ten and eleven, it says, ‘So I ask, have they stumbled so as to fall? But you stand fast only through faith……so do not become proud, but stand in awe. Note then, the kindness and severity of God: serenity toward those who have fallen, but God’s kindness to you, provided you continue in his kindness; otherwise you too will be cut off. For if you have been cut and grafted into an olive tree how much more will these natural branches be grafted into their olive tree.’ Doesn’t this mean we must restore our broken ones with the words of faith and grafted by our words of love and kindness to each other without condemnation, accepting the offering and respect of each other in Christ’s wisdom with words of integrity?
