Faith In Action “God Has More For Us’

action belief

Maybe we have been working for a long time, and we have not reach our expectation. We are doing the final chores for the day and about to go home.

Our thoughts might be we are glad that day is over, but we hope we don’t have the same kind of day tomorrow. lets relate to a story from the Book of Mark Chapter 5:

V1: “Now so it was, as the multitude pressed about Him {Jesus} to hear the word of God, that He stood by the Lake of Gennesaret”,

V2: “ .And  saw two boats standing by the lake; but the fishermen had gone from them and were washing their nets”.

V3: Then He got into one of the boats, which was Simon’s and asked him to put out a little from the land. And He sat down and taught the multitude fro the boat”.

Fisherman had been working all night, and were cleaning up, now they were approached by a Man {Jesus} they had heard about, and He asked them could he use there boats.

Like us the fisherman, might have though. doesn’t He know how tired and disappointed we are from working so hard and having nothing to show for it. And now this Jesus wants to use our boat, so He can convey a message to this multitude that has turned up.

V4: Now when He had stopped speaking, He said to Simon, “launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch.”

Can you image the response, we have just had a bad night and caught nothing, we were cleaning up and You came along, and ask to use our boat. And now You want us to go out into the deep and launch our net again.

A marvelous response from Simon in verse 5:

“But Simon answered and said to Him, ‘Master, we have toiled all night and caught nothing, nevertheless, ‘at Your word I will let down the nets’.”

What had Simon heard in Jesus’s preaching, that had made him want to do something that seemed quite odd to him.

When we know a lot about what Jesus has taught us, what can we recall from His Word, that would make us, go on despite the heaviness of heart. the disappointment, and cast down our nets in faith in obedience to Him.

The story finishes and the nets came up full and they had to call another boat to help.

No matter how we feel, our response should be like Simon’s “Master we have toiled all night and caught nothing, nevertheless at Your word I will let down the net”

Nevertheless Lord, we will follow your Word.

God Bless
