Sunday Encouragement

encourage

If this is your day for rest, like us all you still need encouragement. Be encouraged today with this wonderful scripture from Luke 10 verse 37:

Luke 10 verse 37: “He {Jesus} answered, ‘Love The Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind, and love your neighbor as yourself’.”

Such and easy and simple instruction, why do we try to make love so difficult.

Jesus was answering a question from an expert in the Law. The person most likely was not interested in the answer, but more from his religious self-importance, he asked the question, because he was well versed in the law, or so he thought. He was also trying to trick Jesus. He might have known the Law, but he as many failed to recognize Who Jesus really was.

Jesus’ answer even though it sounds easy, requires every part of us, and may require us to love the unlovable. Jesus was answering the question, because He knew the law, He came to fulfill it, on our behalf, and pay the price for us because we in our own strength could not.

The Law required people to Love God that way, so it is one thing to know the Law, it is another thing to keep and obey the Law. Jesus went on to add, ‘that we should love our neighbors as ourselves’. If we loved people as we loved ourselves, we would not break any of the other laws, like eg. stealing, and murder.

It was the correct answer to the religious persons question, but realness of the answer always gets lost in religiosity. When we break the message down, it is such a simple instruction, but why is it so hard to fulfill.

Perhaps when we recognize and accept Who Christ Jesus really is, we will understand more of the Gospel message which requires us to die to self, and live our life through Him, and living the Love God requires, will be easier for us all.
Be belessed today And Everyday.
