I AM POURED OUT LIKE WATER
So it says in Psalm 22/ Verse 14. “All my bones are out of joint, my heart has turned to wax – it has melted away within me.’ To those who have felt like that have asked, ‘Where are you God? Where did you go?’
Abandonment touches us and we feel alone.
“God, do you still care?’
During a spiritually barren time, we plead for answers to come. We must believe that they will come. Verse eleven tells us,
‘Do not be far from me for trouble is near and there is no-one to help.’
This cry comes from the heart but in the 23rd Psalm, the word enters our spirit in trust.
“I will not be in want, he lies me down in pastures, leads me beside quiet waters, he restores my soul, I need fear no evil for you are with me, you prepare a table for me, anoint me with oil, my cup overflows, love will follow me all the days of my life and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.’
So if you feel he is not near, can’t feel him or see him, thank him daily in trust and wait upon his guidance and everlasting love. Imagine yourself lying down in a field by the quiet waters of a river and holding the assuredness of God in your hearts and believing the anointing of an overflowing cup. The love of God will not fail you. He will touch every day of your life until you dwell in his house.
Seek quietness and peace aside in prayer, do not despair. He will never leave your side, he will replenish and restore you and his silence is just a waiting room of renewal and strength.
A waiting room of spiritual growth from within his endless love.
