We most likely relate too, and have often heard it said. “What can I do, I am only one person”.
Well, we can reflect on how Our Lord and Our Friend can use us, to prepare the way for Him. Luke 111 verse 1 to 25: tells us the story of the Ark-angel Gabriel predicting the birth of John, who would come known as John The Baptist.
The story tells us that John would be confident in God and strong in faith in three areas,
So John first had it, in his realtionship to God, he would great, by his knowing God and his walking with Him.
That should be our number one objective, knowing more and more about God and walking with Him.
So John in relations to himself, he would be self disciplined, never taking to wine or strong drink. He would be full of God’s Spirit, a more powerful spirit than strong drink.
Ephesians 5 verse 18: “And don’t get drunk with wine, which leads to reckless actions, but be filled with The Spirit”.
If we don’t want to hamper, the work of the Spirit in our lives, should be another of our objectives.
So John in relations with others, he would be a catalyst for change, turning the hearts of the father to their children, and turning disobedience to the wisdom of The Lord.
In God’s eyes he would be great. We too need to be men and women who are great in the sight of The Lord. Not troubled if people don.t see us in the same way, but they should know us by our fruit, and by our fruit they will see Our Lord and Our Friend in our lives. Matthew 7 verse 16.
