Kingdom Keys

key

The keys of the kingdom, could lead us to great theological debate, but the phrase, “The Keys of The Kingdom” occurs only once in the Bible.

Matthew 16 verse 19: “I {Jesus} will give you the keys of the Kingdom of Heaven and whatever you bind on earth is already bound in Heaven, and whatever you loose on earth is loosed in Heaven.”

The Keys to understanding the keys of the Kingdom, goes back to Peter’s answer to Jesus’ question of who do the people say He was. There were varying opinions given, but Peter answered and said Matthew 16  V 16: “You are the Messiah, The Son of The Living God.”

Everywhere in the New Testament, a key always implies authority to open a door and give entrance to a place or a realm. The ‘Keys of the Kingdom of Heaven’ therefore represent at least  the authority to preach the Gospel of Christ, and this opens the door of  The Kingdom of Heaven and allows people to enter.

Peter first used this authority by preaching the Gospel at Pentecost, {Acts 2 verses 14 to 42}. But the other disciples also were given this authority and was evident as the New Testament came together.

All believers have this Key, for they can share the Gospel with others, thereby opening the door to the Kingdom of Heaven for those that hear the message to enter in.

There is another authority referred to the authority of binding and loosing, some theology may believe this is a church discipline, but there would have to be more to it than that. As believers we are responsible for what we let influence our lives. The things that are not of God, should be bound as not to trouble us, and the things of God we need for growth should be loosed to us.

There was a book I read for my ministry studies, called taking our cities for God. We should never be tolerant for anything that misrepresents, The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit. We have the responsibility to bind them, so they don’t have any effect on anyone.

The church has this authority, so do individuals who have accepted Christ Jesus, as their Lord and Savior. {Thus accepting Him as the Messiah}.

This was Peter’s confession, ‘You are The Messiah {Deliverer} The Son of The Living God’.. Use this Key to help us all in our witnessing to help other people understand Who Jesus really is. Use the key of binding and loosing, to stop the seeds of evil from flourishing in your own communities.

When we know, we truly belong to Him, the benefits of the relationship with Him are enormous, in the pulling down of strong holds that stand against Him. Remember we are His Hands and his Feet and His witness to those around us.

In Romans 8 verse 1: Speaks of The Spirit law of life in Christ Jesus. We are unclothed in Him. {The word in refers to enveloped type of in} We are enveloped in Christ Jesus.

This is where we have this authority of the keys, is in Christ Jesus, and it is in Christ Jesus who is the Son of The Living God And One with the Father and The Holy Spirit, like Peter’s testimony, We have the authority to use the keys of the Kingdom.

God Bless.
