Scripture Verse Of The Week ‘Ephesians 5 verse 18 to 20’

In Ephesians 5 verse 18 to 20 {Message Bible}:

“Don’t drink too much wine. That cheapens your life. Drink the Spirit of God, huge draughts of Him. Sing hymns instead of drinking songs. Sing songs from the heart to Christ. Sing praises over everything, any excuse for a song to God the Father in the name of of our master, Jesus Christ.”

One of the first evidence of being filled with the Holy Spirit is a singing heart. The Book of acts 2 verse 13: They were filled with the Holy spirit and appeared to be drunk, but it was more of being overcome by the Holy Spirit, taking up residence. Peter goes on to explain, from the Book of Joel, that this was prophecyed .

Jesus finished what He came to do on the cross, now it is through the Holy Spirit, we are to minister and be ministered to. We need to understand that God deals with individuals, not masses. His Power is not promulgated by official decrees, or what comes through the media. He comes to each one of us.

We are a unique individual. we have a history and emotional life all our own. God now through our acceptance of what Our Lord and Our Friend {Christ Jesus} did on the cross, operates ultimate relationship with us, just as we are.

That is where He starts His work in our lives, just as we are, and from there He wants to take us on to His plans and purposes for our life.

But even though we have accepted him, we must be willing to change for the wonderful calling He has for each of our lives.

So remember when we Believe Christ Jesus , we are actually receiving The Holy Spirit, who applies the finished work of Christ Jesus to our lives.

God Bless.
