We should enjoy the fact that Jesus is a friend of ours. But he would remind us that we did not choose Him, indeed He says that He chose us {John 15 verse 16}: Amplified Bible;
“You have not chosen Me, but i have chosen you — I have appointed you I, I have planted you — that you might go and bear fruit and keep on bearing; that your fruit mat be lasting [that it may remain, abide]; so that whatever you ask the Father in My Name [as presenting all that I AM] He may give it to you.
Many aspire to be friends of the rich and famous but we have the privilege of being friends of The Almighty. What a blessing to know that we, like Abraham of the Old Testament, as stated in {James 2 verse 23} are His special friends and that the Lord appreciates our friendship, loyalty and devotion.
From our posting 24th May 2014; Hymns Of Our Forefathers, “What A Friend we have in Jesus’.
‘What A Friend we have in Jesus, All our sins and griefs to bear! What a privilege to carry Everything to God in prayer.’
He becomes our Friend, the minute we accept His invitation to come, it is open to any ‘Whosoever’ John 3 verse 16: Lets put our trust in Him afresh today, because He has more for us then anything the world has to offer.
God Bless.
