Reconciliation —comes from being reconciled.
Reconciled — to bring or come into a state of harmony or agreement.
Reconciliation on God’s part is a pure act of His Love.
2 Corinthians 5 verse 18 to 21:
V18: ” Now everything is from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation:”
V19: That is, in Christ. God was reconciling the world to Himself not counting their trespasses against them, and He has committed the message of reconciliation to us,”
V20: “Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ; certain that God is appealing through us, we plead on Christ’s behalf, ‘Be reconciled to God’.”
V21: ‘”He made The One Who did not know sin to be sin for us, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.”
There was nothing that could have reconciled us to God, because mankind had fallen into sin. Sin brought about by rebellion against God, through lack of trust and disobedience.
Lack of trust is the reason why many people are separated from each other let alone God. Lack of trust a price would need to be paid, to the One whose trust was broken. There was nothing humanity could have done to restore, the trust that humanity had broken with their Creator God.
Reconciliation offered by God, is, then the great positive enactment of His divine love. And therefore it is the love of God that makes humanity’s lost and hopeless cause God’s own cause, so that God stoops to take their lost and hopeless cause upon Himself in order to emancipate {set free from the power of sin} both men and women and reconcile them to Himself.
The Best way of explaining the reconciliation God offers is John 3 verse 16:
“For God loved the world in this way; He gave His One and Only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life.”
Reconciliation is achieved and completed in the Person of The Incarnate Son {God enclothed in flesh}. The Self-giving of God in love to humanity, came Himself to take our cause upon Himself. God so loved, He gave of Himself, so ‘everyone who believes In Him’ can be reconciled back to fellowship with Him.
God Bless.
