Builders In The Kingdom

It doesn’t matter what profession we have, we are builders, building on the foundations of Christ Jesus. We are building things that will endure for eternity. It is the work that goes into building God’s temple, and Paul says that temple is us. {1 Corinthians 3 verse 16}. Message Bible:

“You realize, don’t you, that you are the temple of God, and God Himself is present in you?”

Paul made two points in this metaphor of the building. Firstly, we are workers with God. And secondly, we are worked upon by God. So instead of the building being limited by our individual shortcomings, we become transformed under the direction of The Master Builder.

When we grasp the significance of this, it means that ‘whoever’ we are, there is that word again ‘whoever’ from John 3 verse 16; NKJV:

“For God so loved the world that He gave His Only Begotten Son, that ‘whoever’ believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life”.

‘Whoever’ believes, ‘whoever we are, wherever we are, whatever we do for Christ Jesus {Our Lord and Our Friend} is of eternal significance. In His coming kingdom, we will be able to see how even the tiniest, or the most mundane service contributes to God’s great plan, of Salvation, that other ‘whoevers’  will find His Love also.

Through repentance and acceptance, we have become more than a ‘whoever’, we are adopted into His family, and we become a temple in which He resides. The revelation of this, is that we can pour our lives into the work and know that in doing so, we become the actual materials for the church that God is building.

God Bless.
