Psalm 56 verse 3: “What time I am afraid, I will put my trust in thee”.
There are going to be times in our lives, when we will be afraid. It is what we do when we are afraid. Fear can do lots of things to people, and perhaps one to the biggest things is:
Not going out, staying at home, stay in an environment, where we feel secure.
I remember the story of a lady from the newspapers a few years ago. A lady who was so afraid of being robbed in her own home, she went to extraordinary lengths to fortify her home. Double locks on all the doors, security screens and bars on the windows. The lady did all she could to make her home secure, to allay her fears.
The story of her secure home spread. that people began to think, she must have had something extremely valuable in her home. The criminal element of society, also believed she must have had something worth stealing. They broke in to her house by removing the tiles on the roof, but all for no avail.
We can always do everything humanly possible to make ourselves secure, but there is always a glitch, in our over protectiveness. We are ambassadors in this world, because we belong to a different Kingdom, who King is well able to help us in any circumstances we may go through.
building our own walls of protection, is putting our trust in self.
Galatians 2 verse 20; tells us: “and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the flesh, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me”.
Let our confession be, when we are afraid, we will trust in Our Lord, Our Redeemer and Our Friend. Because He is our protection. and He has promised to never leave us, and He has given us His peace.
When we are afraid, we can put our trust, in Him because He does love us dearly.
