Scripture Verse Of The Week ‘Psalm 51 verse 10’

Psalm 51 verse 10: “Create in a clean heart for me and renew a steadfast spirit within me”.

King David had sinned against God, by sleeping with Bathsheba and arranging a situation where her husband was killed in battle.

So serious was David’s sin he could not go into the sanctuary to join in God’s praises. in verse 8 David is asking for forgiveness so He can. He is asking God to tell him he is forgiven, so that he may hear the joy and gladness, and  again be able to come into God’s presence.

Sin {wrong doings against God} separates us from God. Under the new covenant {New Testament}, coming and accepting Christ Jesus, for what He did on the cross, washes away sin.

It is still possible for us to sin, and when we do, it is like having dirty clothes on, and we wouldn’t  go out in them, let alone come into the presence of God in them.

1 John 1 verse 9: “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness”.

The heart is the spiritual nature of a person, the center of the will, the capacity to make choices. This prayer is for God to create a clean heart. This is more than renew, lest he continues to make wrong choices.  We need a complete clean out and a clean heart be created. Because our Forgiveness is not the old person just cleaned up, we have become NEW Creations, all things become New.

Be willing to be used, be willing to be changed into the vessel that will bring Glory to our King, we may stumble, but under His guidance we can get up again, as we move in our eternal destiny
