Abba ‘Father’

What a great Child of God promise. Lets read Roman 8 verse 15 from the Message Bible:

“This resurrection life you received from God is not a timid, grave-tending life. It’s adventurously expectant, greeting God with a childlike ‘What’s next Papa.’ God Spirit touches our spirit and confirms who we really are.”

Lets get a double dose of that! Galatians 4 verse 6:

“And because you are sons, God has sent the Spirit of His Son into our hearts, crying, ‘Abba Father!’ So you are no longer a slave, but a son {daughter}; and if a son {daughter}, then an heir through God.”

In Christ in which we are, when we accept Him, through repentance and acceptance of Who He truly is, we are introduced into unprecedented intimacy with God. If we are to look through the Old testament we do not find God addressed as Father. Sometimes He was described as a father, but never addressed familiarly as Father, Abba.

The Gift of Child-ship being a child of God, gives us all a freedom with God, like a child is free with their parents. The best part about this is, we are no longer involved in stiff, and formal protocols in relation to God. Sure we have Reverent fear and awesome Respect for Who He is, but we can now address Him as Abba {daddy}.

This new intimacy we have in Christ Jesus, is a freedom to be ourselves, and share ourselves, in intimacy before Our Father. We all have much more in Christ Jesus {Our Lord and Our Friend}, than we ever dared to believe. It is a privilege to acknowledge Jesus Christ as King of Kings and Lord of Lords, His promises are always true. Lets start today to find out the many things we don’t know about Him already.

God Bless.
