Living in God’s love

“Be imitators of God in everything you do, for then you will represent your Father as his beloved sons and daughters. And continue to walk surrendered to the extravagant love of Christ, for he surrendered his life as a sacrifice for us. His great love for us was pleasing to God, like an aroma of adoration – a sweet healing fragrance.” Ephesians chapter 5 verses 1 and 2 . TPT

I love how this translation says, “continue to walk surrendered to the extravagant love of Christ”; and “his great love for us….was like an aroma of adoration – a sweet healing fragrance”.

As (Christ Jesus), our Lord and Friend, lived His life in surrender to Father God, Scripture tells us it was like a healing fragrance, an aroma of adoration and pleasing to God. We also are called to ‘present our bodies a living sacrifice which is pleasing to God.” Romans 12 verse 1.

Holy Spirit is our ever-present Help in time of need, so we are not called to this ‘surrender’ unaided. “it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure” Philippians chapter 2 verse 13. God works in us. To will. And to do. What an amazing God! His goodness and kindness are trustworthy.

2 Corinthians chapter 2 verse 14 also speaks of this fragrance of Christ – “But thanks be to God, who in Christ always leads us in triumphal procession, and through us spreads the fragrance of the knowledge of Him everywhere.”

In Christ. Many are the benefits for us who are ‘in Christ’. ones who have surrendered our lives to Him, and rely on His salvation in all areas of our lives.
