Rest and Refreshing
Isaiah 28:11-12 “For with stammering lips and another tongue He will
speak to this people, To whom He said, ‘This is the rest with which You
may cause the weary to rest’ and this is the refreshing”. Our Lord and
Friend has provided a place of rest and refreshing in His Presence.

I was reminded of this verse recently, about 2.00am when I was having
trouble getting back to sleep. I was praying quietly, though earnestly in
my spirit and then this verse floated through my mind. My response was
“Lord how kind You are!” My attitude changed from “striving” to leaning
into His kindness, and I drifted back to sleep.

Exodus 33:14 “He said, “My Presence will go with you, and I will give your
rest.’”
Hebrews 4:9-10 says “There remains therefore a rest for the people of
God. For he who has entered His (God’s) rest has himself also ceased
from his works as God did from His”

So now we can walk in this wonderful rest of God: by faith in Him;
trusting His word; hearing His voice; relying on His character; getting to
know Him daily.

Ephesians 3 :18-19 “And may you have the power to understand, as all
God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep His
love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to
understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of
life and power that comes from God.”
