Speaking mouth to mouth
Recently as I was reading through the book of Proverbs in The Passion Translation, I was captured by the verse: Proverbs 23:15,16 “my beloved child, when your heart is full of wisdom, my heart of full of gladness. And when you speak anointed words, we are speaking mouth to mouth.”
Wow. How amazing is that. “Mouth to mouth” would indicate two people in close conversation: intimate.
It reminded me of Hebrews 4:12 in The Passion Translation “For we have the living Word of God, which is full of energy, like a two-mouthed sword. It will even penetrate to the very core of our being where soul and spirit, bone and marrow meet. It interprets and reveals the true thoughts and secret motives of our hearts.” God’s word has the ability to uncover the hidden aspects in our life and make them known. It is for freedom that we have been set free. He whom the Son sets free is free indeed. Our Lord Jesus came to bring freedom and transformation to every area of our heart and soul.
Numbers 12:8 reference to speaking mouth to mouth. AMPC “with him I speak mouth to mouth (directly), clearly and not in dark speeches; and he beholds the form of the Lord.” NJKV says “I speak with him face to face”. This verse is speaking of the Lord’s relationship with Moses, who was called a friend of God. (Exodus 33:11) “so the Lord spoke to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend.”
Our Lord and Friend tells us in John 15:14 “you are my fiends if you do what I command you.” Earlier in John 6:63 Jesus said, “the words I speak to you are spirit and life.”
When we choose to speak Gods’ wisdom, agreeing with His word, Proverbs 23:16 says ‘we are speaking mouth to mouth.”, and it make His heart glad.
As we walk in 2026, let’s be attuned to His voice and speak His words. We are His mouthpiece in the earth; and He loves to bless (prosper) as we agree with Him, speaking truth and life-giving words.
Shalom.
