Weekend Inspiration

The Apostle Paul wrote “God saved you by his grace when you believed. And
you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God.” Grace is God’s favour
poured out on us when we didn’t deserve it. We now live in His grace, His
unmerited favour.
Why do we need God’s unmerited favour?
There are a few verses from the Bible in the book of Romans which out line
this.
We were all sinners and fall short of God’s righteousness.
Romans 3:23
23 For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard.
The consequence of sin is eternal death – separation from God our creator.
Romans 6:23
23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through
Christ Jesus our Lord.
God however loves His creation and sent His Son to die in our place taking
the wrath of God for us.

Romans 5:8
8But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while
we were still sinners.
How do we access this grace we call salvation.
Romans 10:9
9
If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God
raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
We can know for certain that we are saved.
Romans 10:13
13 For “Everyone who calls on the name of the LORD will be saved.”
It is also important to realise that you now have a new life in Christ. You
have been born again in the spirit. Paul described this well in his second
letter to the Corinthian church.
2 Corinthians 5:17
17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have
passed away; behold, all things have become new.
2 Corinthians 5:21
21 For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become
the righteousness of God in Him.
What can I do to grow in this new life in Christ?
When we come to Christ, we are now in relationship with God the Father,
Jesus His Son and Holy Spirit who now lives in us.
To develop a relationship, conversation and fellowship are essential, along
with reading the Bible which is known as the Word of God.

God Bless
