Scripture Verse Of The Week

Revelation 3 verse 20:

“Listen! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come into Him {or her} and have dinner with him {or her} and he {or her] with Me”.

It is a well known verse, including a word picture of Jesus asking to be let in. The words translated ‘share a meal’ {net} does not refer to a meal shared with a stranger but with a meal shared among friends who know each other well.

We often use this verse, to lead lost people to Christ, and in the story of Zacchaaeus Jesus was going to the lost and the lost was transformed.

But the basic application is to the believer. Maybe it has been a while since we have taken real time to be with Jesus, He is not just looking to transform the lost, Our Lord and Our Friend is always looking for more fellowship with each of us. Maybe we need to take the time to open all the door of our life to Jesus, not just the ones we want to.

In Revelation The Lord was outside the Laddicean church! He spoke to the individual and not to the congregation. He had appealed to a small remnant in Sardis {V4 and 5} and here he appeals to an individual. Our Lord and Our Friend can do great things in a church through one dedicated individual.

Fellowship with Our Lord and Our Friend, the door to our life should be continually open, for what ever He wants to do through us.

God Bless.
