Come to Me

Proverbs 9:10 The Passion Translation “The starting point for acquiring wisdom, is to be consumed with awe as you worship Yahweh. To receive revelation of the Holy One, you must come to the One who has living-understanding.”

As I was reading this Scripture, another verse came to mind. Jesus was speaking in John 5:39-40 “You search the Scriptures for in them you think you have eternal life; and these are they which testify of Me. But you are not willing to come to Me that you may have life.”

We see this same invitation in Matthew 11:28-30 “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”

John 6:37 “All that the Father gives me will come to Me, and whoever comes to Me I will never cast out.”

The importance of the Scriptures are that they reveal our Lord and Friend. The purpose for reading the Bible is the life we receive as we encounter Jesus Christ through the Holy Spirit. It’s intimacy with Christ. Because it is in Him, in Christ, that we live and move and have our being. He is our Wisdom, Righteousness, Sanctification and Redemption.

2 Peter 3:18 says it like this “But continue to grow and increase in God’s grace and intimacy with our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.” As we continually come to Him, we are changed from glory to glory into His image, as we behold Him. Christ in us, the hope of glory.

I hear Him calling “come away My beloved”.
