2 Peter 3 Verse 18: “But grow in Grace and knowledge of our Lord and our savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory both now and forever”. {NKJV}
We grow in the special favor of God that is called “Grace”. This has to do with Cristian character traits, the very thing Peter wrote about i verse 5 and 7, and that Paul discussed in Galatians 5 Verse 22 and 23:. God gives these to us, but we need to develop continuously our practice of them. We were saved by grace Ephesians 1 Verse 8 and 9, but grace does not end there!
We must also be strengthened in grace.
God’s grace can enable us to endure difficulties, and to sing when singing is difficult.
God’s has grace for every situation and every challenge in life.
We will never know contentment as Christians if we boast in what we do in our Christian lives, because we could always do better. We will never be content if we boast in what we have achieved, because we could always choice more. We will never be content if we boast in what we have experienced, because there will always be someone else who has had a more exciting spiritual experience than us.
But we don’t need the contentment from boasting, We don’t need the contentment from striving. We don’t need the self satisfaction of self sought praise, but when we boast in and celebrate God’s Grace made available to us because of Our Lord and Our Friend’s death and riising again for us , then we can know contentment and satisfaction, and does not matter what the circumstances are.
The Glorious Cross of Christ is the only path for authentic Christian spirituality. It is because of the Cross that we have gained access by faith into this Grace in which we now stand.
Grow in Grace and knowledge that is our sufficiency for everything, 2 Corinthians 12 v 9:
God Bless.
