Wonderful Account From Book Of ‘Hosea’

Hosea proclaims God’s compassion and covenant love that can not let His people go.

For centuries, God loves and loves His people, only to watch as they give themselves to dark idols. Even these days people are drawn to darkness, which virtually oppose God.

Oh how His heart must break as it did then, for His people who dabble with the powers of darkness.

God wants his people to have a clear understanding of what it is to be in a covenant relationship with Him.

So during the last 30 years of Israel’s assistance as a nation, before they fall to Assyria. God calls Hosea to be His prophet. As Isaiah and Micah are called to speak to the southern kingdom of Judah, Hosea speaks to the northern kingdom.

God wants the people to know through Hosea, how they have committed adultery against Him, in there dabbling with the powers of darkness. God tells Hosea to marry Gomer, a woman who will be unfaithful to him.As Gomer commits adultery, Hosea hopes to represent God’s faithful love.

No matter how many times Gomer betrays Hosea in adultery, Hosea is to love her and take her back. Hosea does just that, and even buys her back after she has become a slave.

Just as God is heart-broken by the people adultery, and even though He allows them to be defeated because of their bad choices by Assyria. God will not close the book on their love story. God palms to woo His people back.

Hosea 2 verse 14 and 15:

Verse 14: Therefore I am going to allure her; i will lead her into the wilderness and speak tenderly to her.”

Verse 15: “There I will give her back her vineyards and will make the Valley of Achor a door of hope.”

God wants His people to love Him so much that they would never cheat on Him, and He will not stop wooing them to they do.

Question: How deep is our love for God, that other sources and apparent pleasure, can not lead us away.

God loves us, so much, He gave the Best He had for us, by sending His Son to the cross. It is our choice to give the best we have to Him, as our love choice.

Even the believer, no especially the believer, is continually pursued by The Holy Spirit. He is the One whom patiently strives with the fallen nature of man.

God Bless.
